Still time to jump on the rocketship

I've made posts like this before, but Bitcoin's price is a bit crazy right now.
If you bought may book a few weeks ago, you would have had gotten a 43% return on your bitcoin holdings! Wow! (This is using CoinDesk BPI as of the official launch date compared to today). There is still time to jump into the arena, check it out on Amazon or Payhip.

Litecoin has made some big upward price movements too. This is probably due to segwit being activated. Thus resolving any uncertainty and improving the usefulness of the coin. Perhaps we might see similar results if BTC did that as well. But it's not just BTC and LTC that are big winners, lots of coins are going up. Nyan is the only coin in my holdings that hasn't gone way up.

Who knows what the future will bring. Either way, it might be a good idea to acquire some of your own Bitcoin. Not buying it necessarily, read my book to learn more.

Qoinpro review

Nearly two years ago, I signed up with qoin pro. The idea behind the site is you get free cryptos daily. This sounds great but, the site gives so little crypto, you will never actually get anything.

My balance for coins I actually care about are next to nothing. Worst yet, the withdrawal fees are so high I can’t get anything.

They do make some cool banners.
You can even sign up under me here. Although, there isn't really a point.

Below is the front page.

I love the nonsense of this page. “Compound interest is the most powerful force in the universe”

What does that have do to with anything? There is no interest involved in this site at all.

In short, while Qoinpro is not a scam per se ( be careful of the daily coins you need to pay to unlock. They basically will never return their value [those kind of are a scam]) it won't make you any money. I suppose you would have better luck with facuets.

On a final final note, some of the altcoins are actually withdraw-able, like Feathercoin. But I don't really have an interest in that at this time.

Price increase increases adoption?

Litecoin has been in the spotlight recently because of its rapid price changes, trading at almost 9 dollars coin july 8th and 9th. This has been a high since the 80 dollar days bitcoin was in the thousands.

I think this increase in price has increased interest in cryptocurrencies. I speculate as “interesting” movements happen in the price of cryptocurrecny, more people become interested in them.  This means more vendors will accept the coin and more people may use it.For example, some Adult content sites are even adopting litecoin in addition to bitcoin. You can even buy handcrafted goods for litcoin! Like here on esty!

Last Year this week:
Last Year this week I posted by defeat to Kelso in making this blog. The post is available here. For more details of the story you can start with my first blog post. At this time my blog wasn't even about bitcoins and cryptocurrency yet. On my second post I started to talk about bitcoin, and from there, the rest is history. The contest was measured in terms of page views, who ever had the most page-views at the end won. I think at the time I had something like 1,000 page views, and Keslo had 2,000. Its interesting now that I have closer to 5,000 whereas last I checked he had more like 3,000.

Getting a wallet!

Perhaps I have put the cart in front of the horse. Or maybe more accurately in this case I have put the glass over the faucet. But before you can use a faucet, you need to have a wallet!.

Not that kind of wallet silly! I mean a cryptocurrency wallet. Well how do you get one? It is easy! But before you dive in, you may want to consider a few things. First, there are different types of wallets for different purposes. The least space consuming is a light wallet, like these (http://multidoge.org/ , https://multibit.org/ ). This wallet simply skims the blockchain, rather that downloading the whole thing. As a result, it is faster to download and updates more quickly. I recommend this wallet for most users. It does have some drawbacks. For instance, if you are going to mine, you can not use this wallet. It will not be able to keep up with the number of transactions. Instead you should use a QT wallet.

Such Wallet

A QT wallet downloads the whole block chain (http://dogecoin.com/ ,https://litecoin.org/ ). Many smaller coins only have QT wallets. This wallet is great for recieving tons of transactions. However, it is also growing all the time. As more transactions are processed, the blockchain grows. Each growth needs to be downloaded onto your local wallet. So, the wallet will take up more space. It also takes longer for it to sync to the network ( in other words, to download all the blocks since it was last updated).

In the Exchange ( buying Dogecoin or Bitcoin or whatever!)

On the exchange you have a sidebar with the different markets. Cryptsy has so many markets its confusing. Let's say you want to look at the dogecoin market, you have quite a few options. First you can look under USD and find USD/DOGE and exchange doge for real money. Note, you will need a verified account for this.

You also can look under BTC and find the BTC/DOGE exchange.

Here the price is denoted in satoshi with 44 satoshi being the price to buy doge at and 43 being the price to sell doge at.

This is a very active market and there is no price gap. You can also trade litecoin for doge in the LTC/DOGE market. This is a comparatively less volume market. It also features a generally larger price gap. The price here is listed in litoshi ( i.e., satoshi for litecoin).

One thing to remember is your order doesn't need to be at the current price. You can put any price into your order. But if the price is too high, you won’t sell it right away ( or maybe even ever).

To the Moon!

Welcome aboard the rocket ship because we are going to the moon!

of faucets!

I discovered some new faucets  worthy of note!

Naturally doge coin is a perfect candidate for moon-bound adventures, after all  the shibes do say, "To the Moon!"

The next one is less expected, but still common, a moon bitcoin faucet.

This last site was an surprise to me. I have not seen basically any litecoin faucets prior to this, and now I might use it for the first time.

So I am quite a bit late to the party, but I may look into litecoins for the first time. Certainly I followed them before price wise. But now I might own some. Click my clicks and make an account if you would like! You will feed a poor hungry student. It also is a nice faucet as you can just sign up and leave it, forget it for a while, and then claim all at once and get a pretty good claim as far as faucets go.

Also here is a video for fun. It is much like bitcoin, so this might be a review.
